 Introducing the Grunge girl, Off duty and Timeless knot look which rocked the runway at MBFF. Created by Redken 5th Avenue NYC Hair Director Richard Kavanagh. The perfect hair-do for spring. Here are a few simple steps for you to get the same look and to also complete the look with a couple of dresses that would suit the hairstyle for Spring/Summer! 

Get the Grunge look

Inspired by punks of the 70's where girls use to wear their hair on the sides shaved with a modern twist giving a little attitude. 

1. Spray Redken Rootful 06 to the root area and lengths for control and a satin finish. 

2. Part the hair low on one side and blow dry directionally across the top of the head. 

3. Flat iron the hair, spraying each section with Redken Fabricate 03 for heat protection and shine. 

4. Spray hair Redken Quick Dry 18 from a distance for hold and control. 

5. On the same side as the low parting, smooth the hair withRedken Hardwear 16 gel and comb behind the ear for a wet look detail. Lock the hair style in place with Redken Forceful 23 hair spray.

Get the Off Duty look

The off duty look is effortlessly cool and causal with a simple textured fringe that's flawless for Spring like 'Alexa Chung'.

1. Prepare the hair by applying Redken Rootful 06 to the roots area followed by Redken Guts 10 from roots to ends and blow dry.

2. Using a medium sized curling iron, tong the hair from the ear level down while holding the barrel vertically. 

3. Spray lengths with Redken Wool Shake 08 and using a soft brush and fingers, shake and loosen the curls. 

4. Use Redken Signature Looks Loose Endings 09 to shape and define waves and create some separation in the lengths.

Get the Timeless Knot look

The Timless Knot has been modern by a narrow and an elegant silhouette. It defines the bone structure with it's simplicity layers in a twist.

1. Prepare the hair by applying Redken Rootful 06 to the root area followed by Redken Guts 10 from roots to ends and then blow dry. 

2. Spray Redken Wool Shake 08 and Redken Powder Refresh 01 onto the hair and brush through with a Mason Pearson brush for great matte texture and volume. 

3. Pull the hair into a tight ponytail at the crown. Twist and pin in place. 

4. Finish with a light spray of Redken Quick Dry 18.

The weather warmed up on Saturday to help us with our Summer-vibing 'Salute the Sun' Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney show debut.

Prepping kick-started early with our models and blogger beauties cued up and ready for hair and make up transformation by the best-of-the-best in the biz, MAYBELLINE and Redken Australia while snacking on some pre-show Gelatissimo treats.

Our bloggers kept it au-natural in their individual hair and make up styling, keeping it real with their signature looks and styles. 

Each section of our show payed homage to the different styles of our MHQ girl- 'Bright', 'Mono', 'Street' and 'Mod'. 

Our catwalk beauties were transformed into bronzed up babes courtesy of Naked Tan with wispy top knots and acid-tripper colours for 'Bright', given side-slicked and androgynous 90s edge with 'Street', Debbie-Harry messy blonde hair and full body fringes for 'Mod' and black and white shades attributing to the 'Mono' PM-inspired show finale.
